Reishi Mushroom or ‘Lingzhi’ as it’s called in China, is a fascinating fungus that grows on the base of deciduous trees in hot and humid locations. Shaped like a saucer, it has a glossy exterior and is often red in colour.
It is thought that Reishi Mushrooms were first discovered by Chinese healers more than 2000 years ago in the Changbai Mountains. Ancient texts revere the mushroom as an elixir of immortality and contained secret locations where the fungus was believed to grow.
