WHAT IS SIBERIAN GINSENG EXTRACT?

Siberian Ginseng (also known as Eleuthero) is a woody shrub that has been used for centuries in Eastern medicine, to support mental and physical wellness. It is not to be confused with the American and Asian Ginseng herbs, which differ in chemical components and benefits.


The active ingredients in the root of Siberian Ginseng are called Eleutherosides. They are believed to help stimulate the immune system, enhance exercise performance and improve cognitive functions. 


Siberian ginseng is also adaptogenic. This means it supports the body in dealing with stress. 



WHAT IS IN SIBERIAN GINSENG EXTRACT?

Our Siberian Ginseng is wild harvested from Siberia and dual extracted using water and alcohol - a traditional Chinese method. This temperature-controlled extraction allows us to produce a fine micro-powder, rich in adaptogenic phytonutrients, Eleutherosides, Polysaccharides and a whole host of vitamins and minerals.


Mountainlife Siberian Ginseng extract powder has a 10:1 ratio to amplify its health benefits. This means it contains 10 times the unique active compound as the original herb in dried form. To simplify it, 10 kilograms of Siberian Ginseng powder is finely milled and extracted to make just 1 kilogram of extract powder. It’s potent and packed full of nutrients.

WHAT’S THE HISTORY OF SIBERIAN GINSENG?

Medicinal use of Siberian Ginseng dates back more than 2000 years. In Russian folk medicine, it was traditionally used to prevent colds and flu and to promote general good health.


In traditional Chinese Medicine, the herb is mixed with wine and other health-boosting ingredients to create a tonic for arthritis, back pain and tiredness. Siberian Ginseng is featured in the ‘Great Catalogue of Medicinal Herbs,’ with Li Shih Chen describing it as a ‘superior herb for invigorating physical energy and increasing one’s ambition.’ 


Interestingly, Siberian Ginseng is considered the first Adaptogenic herb, with traditional healers noting its ability to help the body manage stressful circumstances, such as extreme temperatures, infections and trauma.

Siberian Ginseng extract may help to improve athletic performance by increasing muscle strength during periods of intense physical activity. One study found that consuming 800mg of Siberian Ginseng daily increased the male subjects’ endurance times by 23%.

How To Use

Powder- We recommend taking ½ teaspoon (roughly 2g) of Siberian Ginseng Extract daily. Add it to warm water to create a herbal tea or mix it into your favourite beverage.


Capsules- Take 1-2 Siberian Ginseng Extract capsules daily with plenty of water.
